Publisher Deep Silver and developer Starbreeze have exciting news for fans eagerly awaiting the launch of Payday 3. The highly anticipated cooperative heist game is set to release on September 21, 2023, across multiple platforms, including PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. However, lucky players on PC and Xbox Series X|S will get a sneak peek into the action with a closed beta running from August 2nd to August 7th.
The closed beta, described as a “technical closed beta,” will provide players with a taste of the thrilling heist gameplay that the Payday series is renowned for. The chosen heist for this exclusive preview is titled “No Rest for the Wicked,” featuring a classic bank robbery scenario. Participants will have the opportunity to step into the shoes of four iconic characters from the Payday franchise: Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and Wolf, and partake in intense four-player co-op missions.
During the closed beta, players will experience the adrenaline-pumping heists in both stealth and loud modes. The developers have generously unlocked most weapons and cosmetic items, allowing beta testers to provide valuable feedback on various elements of the gameplay experience. However, it’s important to note that progression in the beta will have certain limitations, with Infamy Level capped at 22 and Weapon Level Progression capped at 8.
As with any closed beta, participation will be limited, as the development team focuses on meeting their technical goals rather than maximizing the number of players involved. Both PC and Xbox Series X|S players can request access to the closed beta. PC players can do so through the Payday 3 Steam store page, while Xbox Series X|S players can utilize the Xbox Insider Hub app to sign up. It’s worth mentioning that not even fans who have pre-purchased the game will receive guaranteed access to the closed beta.
For those lucky enough to be selected to participate, they will have five action-packed days to dive into the world of Payday 3 and share their thoughts with the developers. Feedback from the closed beta will undoubtedly help fine-tune the game before its official launch.
While the closed beta is currently only available for PC and Xbox Series X|S, there has been no official confirmation of a closed beta for PlayStation 5 players at a later date. Fans on other platforms will have to wait until the game’s release to experience the thrill of the cooperative heist game.
Payday 3 is poised to bring new levels of excitement to the series, and early impressions suggest that it has successfully improved upon the formula of its predecessors without straying too far from what fans love. The closed beta offers a glimpse into the captivating world of high-stakes heists and promises an unforgettable gaming experience upon its full release.
With the closed beta rapidly approaching, fans and heist enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the chance to take part in the action-packed test run. As Payday 3 gears up for its grand heist on September 21st, players are counting down the days until they can unleash their inner mastermind and execute their most daring heists.
